Demo. Rev. Episode. 8: Tucker reviews Gov. Newsom's three nominations for the three open seats

In this episode of Democracy Revealed, host Michael Wyatt Tucker leads off with an update to the Covid-19 pandemic in America and its worsening in California. He also discusses some various regional stories related to how businesses do or don’t protect customers and employees.


In this week’s coverage of state-wide California news,Tucker reviews Governor Newsom’s selection of Sec. of State Alex Padilla to replace junior California Sen. Kamala Harris's seat, who will be the vice-president of the United States beginning January20, 2021.


He also reviewed Newsom's nomination of Assemblywoman Shirley Weber to be California’s next Secretary of State, replacing Padilla.


Ending the second segment is a story about outgoing Attn.General Becerra’s legal fight with Amazon over working conditions at their California warehouses.


In the final segment,Tucker reviews the saga of stimulus checks getting into the Covid-19 Relief Package. He outlines the actions of President Trump, Senator Sanders, House Democrats and Senate Majority Leader McConnell either in favor of the checks or in opposition.


On a separate note, Tucker highlights President-Elect Biden’s selection of Congresswoman Martha Fudge to head the Department of Housing and Urban Development, potentially opening up her seat for progressive firebrand and Ohio native Nina Turner.
