About the California State Assembly
•The California State Assembly has 80 Members elected to two-year terms. Under the provisions of term limits, each Member elected on or after the passage of Proposition 28, in 2012, may serve a lifetime maximum of 12 years in the State Legislature. Assembly Members who were first elected to the State Legislature on or after the passage of Proposition 28 may serve 12 years in the Assembly, or a combination of service in the Assembly and Senate as long as the combined terms do not exceed 12 years.
•Assembly Members are assigned to various committees to review bills according to a subject area.

California State Assembly Salary:
$119,702 per year for rank-and-file members,
$128,680 for second-ranking members of each party,
$137,655 for the speaker and the minority party leader, plus a per diem of $211, as long as the Assembly meets once every three days
Register to Vote:
The last day to register to vote for the November 8, 2022, General Election is October 24, 2022. People can register online here.
What registered voters should know:
All California active registered voters will receive a vote-by-mail ballot for the November 8, General Election. The County elections office will begin mailing ballots no later than October 10, 2022.
Registered voters can return their vote-by-mail ballot by mail with prepaid postage as long as it's postmarked on or before Election Day and received by November 15, 2022, or in-person to a secure ballot drop box, to a voting location or your county elections office by 8:00 p.m. on November 8, 2022.

Statewide candidates for U.S. Senate, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Controller, Treasurer, Attorney General, Insurance Commissioner, Member of State Board of Equalization, State Superintendent of Public Instruction

Supreme Court Justices, as well as other local candidates and local measures.
